St. Regis Shanghai
Stay: March 29-31
Early Check in: Used, arrived around 1pm and was able to get into our room immediately
Late Checkout: automatically offered-did not use (4pm)
Upgrade: Booked entry level room, upgraded to "premier" room only after asking if an upgraded room was available
600 RMB (about $90) Hotel Credit: Could be used anywhere in the hotel, we used it to cover drinks at the bar
Breakfast: Buffet- very well done with a lot of variety
The hotel did not seem as knowledgeable on the benefits and did not provide any AMEX branded paperwork (usually get at least a mail in survey). We really liked this hotel and will likely return...but it seemed a little short of previous St. Regis experiences the butler had to confirm that we got free pressing of two items a day before agreeing to take our clothes at no charge, the laundry bags were plastic (I have only seen cloth bags before), the sabering ritual was a little odd (and about 20 min later than the advertised time). Despite the quirks, we are very likely to return.
