You could pay $30 extra and buy Regular Economy as it would also waive your first baggage fee as you are TK ELPL ( *G ). I have asked a similar question at the United forum last month and I was alerted that UA agents sometimes refuse to interline baggages for Basic Economy.

I have only connected domestic-domestic from SFO so I don't have an experience similar to your case but with separate tickets in the USA, regardless of airport and terminal, I always allow minimum 3 hours for domestic-international and 4 hours for international-domestic on separate tickets.

Yes you may need to leave the airside in some circumstances; if you can't your boarding pass online, you should contact one of the TK check-in desks at SFO. I don't think that TK has a transfer desk at SFO airside. If your flights were at the same ticket. You would be able to issue your boarding pass at the gate until boarding has been closed.
