I understand. I just checked the fares from TPE to various destinations in the USA, and yes, indeed T fares are very similar to B fares. However for my home airport HKG, B fares are somewhat quite significantly cheaper than P fares, not to mention T fares.

I honestly just went through the same thought process. I really like the EVA ORD timings (rather than the daytime CX direct), but none of the *A FFP makes sense to me, so I ended up just buying B fares whenever I see fit, transfer some of my Chase UR points to United and check periodically for SAUA.
