I am looking to rent a car with the family when we are in Austin Texas. We typically book this via BA using Avis Preferred. However when looking at the options today I can now see that Budget cars are listed alongside AVIS on BA.

A category W or S SUV are much cheaper on Budget than they are on AVIS £100+ cheaper.

Are the insurances / benefits the same when booking via BA Exec Club Budget as they are with BA Exec Club AVIS? I also have AMEX Platinum car insurance with the card which offers additional cover.

With the cars are they newer models with AVIS compared to Budget or are they from the same pool?

I am leaning toward staying with AVIS Preferred as I know what to expect but is it worth paying the premium cost over Budget?
