This may have already been reported, but I sent an e-mail asking if you get both points and miles or just one or the other and this was my response.

"We should also advise that as your earning preference is for airmiles, you are not eligible to be credited with points. Members cannot collect both airmiles and points at the same time."

So for those of you who got the 5000 point certificate....I would inquire about your miles.
