You didn't say which airline, you might have luck with them too.
Singapore Airline - I will make another call in a bit. I have scheduled a followup appointment on Thursday - it's such a mess of conditions at the moment.

edit: Just called, no luck with Singapore Airlines unfortunately. Told me that a refund would need to go through the original booking agency, which told me that there was nothing else I could do.
