I plan on seeing another doctor near the end of the week to re-evaluate my condition - if I will not be recovered by the time of the flight anyways, I will file a claim. Is there anything else that I can do?
If you are still sick and see a doctor again and get a second note, make sure it says they recommend that you don't fly.

You didn't say which airline, you might have luck with them too.
