Unfortunately nothing new. Things like boarding group and the like will also flow through quite often - can be good for the person flying if no status but obviously not intended behaviour and AC are incapable / unwilling to fix it.

I am confused as to what happened though. If the $125 payment didn't go through, shouldn't Ryan have been sat in Y? Are you saying AC took the credits and put him in J despite the payment failing? That seems odd.
