This is a decent place to stay so long as you're not expecting a 5* experience. I'd call it 4* minus, with a great staff. Kata has lots of restaurants, but that's a little far to walk (which is why I typically have rented a scooter). To me, the biggest minus (apart from the cost-cutting by management) is the distance from the airport.
