The HBO bronze would get free selection at 7 days, but if you as a gold on a separate booking wanted to do seat selection for them before 7 days you can't do it if the bronze (or similarly a blue/non status passenger) is on a HBO fare.
Basically you can't TCP & set select if the person you are trying to change the seat for is on HBO.
Thanks, I was editing my post to reflect why it might be useful (e.g. more than 7 days for Bronze etc) but you can't extend the benefit to someone on an HBO fare basically?
I couldn't find the text on BA.com to confirm that (it only seems to mention HBO in the context of extending luggage benefits), but I've been around these parts long enough to know the FT collective is frequently more accurate, so useful info to know, thanks! ^
I agree on SH, the hassle seems to significantly outweigh the typical price differentials.
