Cap Juluca - recent experiences? + Caribbean generally

Hi all-

After much debate, we are strongly considering Cap Juluca for a trip in November. There aren't a ton of reports on here and as far as I can tell, none since they reopened a few months ago. Any recent experiences? Specifics:

- We are having a hard time deciding a room category - are the private pools nice in the pool suites? Any insight into the difference between the one-bedroom pool suite and the one-bedroom casita suite?

- Some recent TA reports (I tend to ignore TA but there isn't a ton elsewhere) are discouraging on service glitches and food. Should I write this off to the fact that it's just reopening, or is this a major issue?

Would appreciate any thoughts or insight... Or ideas on other Caribbean destinations (especially beachside private pool accommodations on the beach)... We've considered a bunch of places (Le Toiny, Hermitage Bay, Jumby Bay) but Cap Juluca seemed like it ticked the most boxes for us. As context, we are traveling as a couple without kids and are trying to keep our nightly rate to less than ~$2,500-3000 or so.

Thanks very much in advance!
