My wife and I currently have a trip planned on AA for the end of this month. We have one way tickets PHL-> SMF (paid $237 each), then the return STS->PHL (award tickets). She is currently Platinum Pro (she received the targeted offer through May), and I unfortunately didn't travel enough to retain any status. My MIL fell recently and fractured her pelvis and is currently in rehab, so at least my wife will probably cancel, and I am not sure yet. What are the options for cancelling and minimizing any associated fees? Also, what happens if I just cancel her tickets, and retain mine -Any way to still retain her PPro benefits. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This will probably be a last minute decision. Do I need to cancel by a certain time before the flights?
