Also, just as an aside, the La Scala Opera House opens again in December. I was able to book a quick January weekend there using points, for a Saturday night performance. The hotel is walking distance to the Opera House. I did not know that breakfast was not included, so thanks for the info, and for the room description. We were contemplating taking our 10 year old along with us, but will not now based on your info from the hotel about the room capacity.

And I agree about the location. It is not in a good place to get in/out of for sightseeing out of the city. It couldn't be more in the middle of the city (in the Duomo square) The original poster should spend the night in the Lake Como region, it is beautiful, and deserves more than a day trip. You will be exhausted driving in/out of Milan for the day.
