Hello folks,

We are planning on flying into Wellington and picking up a camper van to sightsee around New Zealand in early December. We will fly out 8 days later from Auckland to LAX.

What is a good place to rent a camper van from in Wellington? I know that Juicy Van is one option, but I was hoping for a rental place that has more of a local flavor. I wouldn't mind getting a van with a little bit more room inside as I will be traveling with my husband. I did something similar in Iceland with a petite friend, and I couldn't sleep with my legs fully extended (I am only 5'4"). My husband is a quite a bit bigger than me or my petite friend. I do not want the camper van to be too big though, as I would like to be able to maneuver the van around NZ comfortably.

If it matters, we are planning on returning the camper van at either Queenstown or Auckland. I don't know if it's enough time to see Wellington down to Queenstown and then drive back up to Auckland with only 8 days. Otherwise, I will return the camper van at Queenstown and just fly up to AKL the night before I'm leaving NZ.

I am beyond excited for this trip! Any suggestions, advices, thoughts welcome.
