Depends on what type of cash&points the poster is talking about. True C&P (the type that now is rarely seen) doesn’t count for the promo. Cash+Points (i.e. in the same booking alternating nights that are fully paid with points with nights that are fully paid with cash) is eligible for the promo, but only the cash paid nights earn base points (and promo double points).
I was talking about some nights paid with point and some nights paid with cash (when you do a book with points, you have the cash and points option at the bottom of the search result to let you pay for some nights with cash). I'm not award Marriott has other type of cash and points.
