The only reason that I will give Ryanair any business is when they fly to places that BA do not reach. Castello is one example - there are many others. Their fares are sometimes incredible but they are so dishonest and opaque. You pay to get on the aircraft, you pay to take two bags, you pay through the nose to take baggage, As CWS says there is nowhere to put anything once you do make it onboard. Once you do book with them you are bombarded with emails about baggage, cars, and hotels on a daily basis. Once their much vaulted punctuality went the way of all things, that was it for me. In the past their punctuality was a benchmark, but on most FR flights that I took - albeit it was not that many - ran late. You never, thank heavens , hear that wretched fanfare upon landing. Yet, which other airline flew me to La Rochelle non-stop. None.

I started actively avoiding them whenever possible after the pilot shortage when they were cancelling everything in sight at the last minute and refused to obey EU law and book people on other carriers or properly compensate people. People who had booked flights and who were allowed to switch because of this debacle were then being charged again for seats, priority - indeed all the extras. This is not hearsay, this happened to someone that I know.

The list is endless - once you get into the sky, they are no problem except for their outrageous prices. Getting from reservations and dealing with them at the airport, one is aware that are a ruthless and rapacious business who could give degrees in Customer Hostility. I loathe them unconditionally.
