If the OP's view was somewhat rose-tinted, yours is dramatically tilted in the other direction.

I use Ryanair when schedules and fares mesh. Probably a couple of times a month. I long since lost any visceral love-hate relationship with airlines (except TP, but that's a long story ).
  • Ryanair BOB is slick: works well. I feel oddly happier buying stuff on FR - I guess because the BA version represent a downgrade in the service I was used to, on top of which it doesn't seem to work very well.
  • Ryanair routes and schedules clearly don't suit everyones travel patterns. Some suit mine, travelling from the Manchester.
  • If Ryanair can get me directly, non-stop to Porto or Dublin at a reasonable fare then I'd be crazy not to take up the offer. And they often can.
  • Even after paying for the little extras that make the flights more comfortable, I'm usually quite significantly quids in with a Ryanair ticket. If I'm not, I'm with them only for the convenience of schedule and non-stop service.
  • And, touch wood, the longest delay I've had was two hours at Porto. It wasn't handle at all well, but there you are. My ticket was less than £20.
