My Aviator annual fee hit on Feb 28th which I haven't had luck getting waived so I have paid for it.

I'm planning to keep this card up to the end of April for the 10% AA miles refund as I might book a flight in April.

I read that if I cancel within 60 days of the annual fee posting, I can get my annual fee refunded. Do they proactively send a check to your billing address once closed? or do you need to request it?

Also, if the refund check goes missing in the mail (thought of this as a Barclay card has gone missing in the mail before), was it simple to call Barclay to stop payment on the check and re-issue another?
