There, fixed it for you. I cringe in anticipation of what a handful of members on FT post whenever a family situation gets brought up.

Good advice above -- I'd definitely buy the BE in this case and wouldn't worry about being able to take care of and sit with your kids. AA GAs and FAs, in my experience, are pretty friendly about accommodating families. On ERJ 140s (1-2), AA has always seated my wife, me, and my kid at booking across one row the handful of times we have bought BE.
