All Barlcaycards are signature-preferring. That hasn't changed since they first started offering chip cards.
I distinctly recall being able to use Barclay's Arrival Plus at unattended gas stations in France.
Couldn't do that with any other card, though to be fair, I didn't have any other cards with PIN numbers.
I try to avoid kiosk-only gas stations but often many of them are closed for the afternoon. Going on a trip next month and I am probably going to face those situations again.
I have a First Tech CU card which I rarely use. I guess I better start using just to make sure it's good. That card at least worked when I bought train tickets in Belgium at kiosks.
