Reliability of JFK AirTrain

I may have raised this topic a few years ago; I apologize if this is a repeat discussion.

When i think of airports around the world that operate transports between terminals — LHR, MAD, DXB, SFO, MIA, DFW, TPA, ORD, EWR, HKG, etc — I can’t think of any that are as unreliable than the JFK AirTrain. How many times have you ridden the JFK AirTrain to find out that the inner loop is operating in the opposite direction or not operating at all (requiring you to ride to Federal Circle and reverse directions) or the entire system is down? I can’t think of many, if any, times the trains at other airports have not been operating as designed. What have others’ experiences been? Am I correct in thinking that the JFK AirTrain is far less reliable that the transports at other airports?
