No doubt this event had the potential to be serious but no one died, most survived unharmed, an elderly couple suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, a handful of others have bumps and bruises. Everyone now has an exciting story to tell particularly those passengers choppered off in high winds and driving rain.
I think you are minimizing the level of fear that the passengers experienced. I would not be surprised is there are hundreds that will develop full-blown PTSD that will have prolonged effects on their lives.
