If different cities YMMV.

For instance if staying for a week in NYC (say Sun-Sun), you get called to say Boston for 1 night on Tues. Never check out of NYC Grand Hyatt, but check into Boston Hyatt on Tues and out on Wed. You can get double credit.

It does happen. Sometimes requires explanation and work.

However simply 1 night to 1 night same city --- forget it.

1 night 1 night different city as above MAY yield 2 stays (say a day room at the Hyatt DFW for a long layover then a stay at the Miami Hyatt that night-- I know that has in the past yielded 2 stays).

YMMV and no assurance.

Certainly if you try to game the system then you deserve what you get, but if you have 2 legitimate reasons for stays in different cities same days it has in the past worked for some.
