ANA Intercontinental Tokyo Akasaka

ANA Intercontinental Tokyo Akasaka

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
King Club Intercontinental - Non-smoking
Upgraded to very nice Tsuki suite
How are the rooms?
Waiting for the suite to become available was able to freshen up in, what I assume was, the room I booked which was nice enough if a little bland but the suite was a step up obviously. It's one long, thin room; the bathroom, then bed and then a living room.
How is the exec. lounge?
Very good. Excellent service, only regret was a dinner date meant we didn't get to try the evening cocktail service.
What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Obviously the upgrade was very nice, had to wait until about 5pm to get it and couldn't blame the previous occupant for wanting to stay till their 4pm check-out. I did the same the next day.
Excellent lounge and service there.
Nice upgraded toiletries and great water pressure in the shower.
Bad:
Slightly disappointing that the lobby bar was 'all-smoking' and the top-floor Mixx bar was a bit of both and as the non-smoking side was full we couldn't get a drink.
The schlep from the Tameike Sanno subway stop got a little tiring.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
With the lounge it's very much worth it. The hotel is big and a little old but well-maintained and has a true Grand Hotel feel, most any time you walk through the lobby there's air-crew checking in or out. It's that kind of place. So long as you are getting value out of the lounge it's a good choice in central Tokyo which can get very pricey.
