HKG: Airport Express out of action Sunday 24 March 2019

Just a heads up that the MTR Airport Express is currently out of action due to the overhead wires being down by Sunny Bay station. The Express passes through Sunny Bay (but doesn't stop) between the airport and its first stop Tsing Yi. A free replacement bus service is running from all the the Express stations to the Airport so allow a fair bit of extra time. The highway is apparently extra busy too.

It may be easier to go to Tsing Yi via the Tung Chung line from central Hong Kong, that is running at 10 minute intervals, and get the bus service from there, however I suspect a lot of the locals will be doing that and I'm not sure how efficient it's going to be. You can imagine how local taxi drivers are responding to this......

Consequently the downtown check-in facility at HK and Kowloon is currently suspended too.
