BBC report BA as saying it would 'make sense' for Rod Errington to become a QF board member - he had previously excluded that possibility to avoid a potential conflict of interest following his time at Ansett Australia - though any decision would be QF's.
BA claim they have 'no plans' to increase their stake in QF, but will support QF's attempt to increase the non-Australian ownership from maximum 25% to maximum 49%.
London's 'Sunday Business' reported that BA had offered to buy British Regional Airlines (an independent company operating BA domestic franchises) to combine it with British Airways Regional (a BA subsidiary - confusing isn't it) and other BA subsidiaries. BA's profitable Gatwick-based subsidiary CityFlyer Express is being closed and merged with BA's loss-making Gatwick operations.
BA didn't comment on the BRAL suggestion, saying they talk to other airlines all the time.
We'll put that down as a possible, then?
