Maybe they plan on purging the benefit at some point. It is a pretty good one especially with OTA coupons and/or other portals (ebates etc.)

On the Premier their documentation only states one gets the 1.25 cpp for portal bookings on air travel, but (for now) it also extends to hotel bookings.

I suspect they have left that hotel booking benefit out because they plan on cutting that at some point, and want the leeway to do so, if it's not in the stated Terms & Conditions.

Removing an off label benefit is easier than taking a formal one away.....
