Just back from Shangers (stayed at Grand Hyatt as it was my mother's first trip and wanted the thrill of being really high up!). Usually stay either St. Regis or Westin when booking *W in Shanghai. The Sheraton (I have not stayed there yet) is in the far west end of the city near the domestic airport (Hongquio .. sorry for misspelling). The Hilton is just a little to the west of the centre (Renmin Square) of the city and one block from a metro station. If you are into buying good quality furniture then all the dealers and warehouses are out at Hongquio and the Sheraton. If you are doing the sites as tourist stick with the Hilton. Also, at the Hilton if you are into having a decent suit or shirts made for you a satellite shop of the WW Chan and Sons is located there. Have a great trip!
