I've never had a car here but I've noticed an obvious valet stand on the Broad Street side when I've been here, and there is definitely clear signage as to which way hotel guests should go versus visitors to the office/residential parts of the building (there are separate elevators).
I can't speak to any of Hockey's other complaints (I don't have any standing requests other than "high floor" and "1 king" which have always been met here) other than recognition; I did note specifically that they recognized me as titanium, which only really stuck out to me because it's still sort of funny hearing it from FDAs.
Yes, there's a valet kiosk (stand?) by the curb, but cars park in front of the stand. I had to double-park to unload my car for it to be parked by the valet attendant.
There was no sign when I came in the main door that the hotel was to the far right and the area right in front of you was for the residences and offices. A bellman or doorman would alleviate some of this. It's definitely confusing compared to the configuration of most hotel lobbies. They're also missing a huge opportunity not having a bar in the lobby.
I just found it odd that they suggested they could upgrade me if I used a suite night award certificate. Especially since, supposedly, properties don't have anything to do with them. It's supposedly processed by Marriott, not properties but whatever.
With better management and focusing on these little things this could easily be a great hotel. But there are lots of little things that added together show a lack of attention to details by management or inexperienced management. You shouldn't advertise turndown service if you don't provide it. There's no excuse for not offering a real breakfast benefit. Why would you have a fancy umbrella and luxury bathrobe but no slippers? Or why would you have a Keurig coffeemaker in the closet with no where to put it or plug it in?
