I agree and I call it a friggin scam. On "direct" flights with a stop you get scammed (1) getting less ff miles (not obvious), and (2) spending more time in travel (usually obvious).

(3) Seat Selection, can only select seats that are available on both legs of the "direct" flight....real pain sometimes.
