Well, I'm happy to report the experiment was successfully completed, even though the sample size was questionable. The Haxen was desiccated, but nonetheless tasty. We concluded that it had probably been roasted early in the day, but almost certainly within the last 24 hours.

The weather could hardly have been better. Mostly sunny, with scattered clouds (i.e., the sky was like the Bavarian flag), temperature in the 80s (~30 C for those not used to F), low humidity with a slight breeze. A perfect day for sitting in the shade of a spreading chestnut tree and doing one's part to dispose of the troubling beer surplus in München.

Thanks to Daydream and rcs85551 for dropping by. Although the place was only sparsely populated in mid-afternoon, by 1930 nearly every table was in use, and I would say the Biergarten was about 75% full. It was a wonderful afternoon, the kind that makes you say, "Life is good".

We must do it again.
