737 MAX 8s are grounded until further notice, and though AA has policy governing 7M8 changes through April 4 and Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg has stated the MCAS update, manual and training changes will occur this month that doesn’t mean the Federal Aviation Administration will issue the Airworthiness Directive note required to withdraw the grounding, nor that AA will start flying them unless AA training is updated and management and pilots are satisfied this all will work to everyone’s satisfaction and safely.
I’d recommend pretending you’ll be flying on a 738 and watch your booking as your day of departure gets close. I’m guessing Dispatch will pretty much have the aircraft nailed 48 hours out, though equipment sypubstitutions such as Unrefitted vs Oasis could still occur up to D0.
