I re-read the OP and s/he lists the Bonvoy customer service phone number at the start of the post. I don't think that would be the first thing I would think of, were I to share thoughts like this. Definitely seems like it was written by a Marriott employee!
Marriott needs any and all positive publicity they can get at this point...so wouldn't be surprised if they have sleeper agents and/or basically paid advertisers (TPG) for the program now
