Excellent observation about Shiodome and undoubtedly very true indeed. But, what I understood from OP's question was a lack of familiarity with Japanese language and wanting "simple", and not a more specific physical limitation. I could certainly have been wrong as to OP's intention and concerns with Japan and the specific neighborhood.
