Thanks to all, especially VegasGambler, who alerted me to the fact that flying on strictly AS flights no longer accrues any AAdvantage miles. News to me ! But I called AS and they promptly credited our miles to our AS accounts. This is the pits as I have found that on the only route we fly SMF-OGG-SMF in first, they offer no F award or even mileage upgrades as far out as I can see on their calendar. I may have to look at HA's mileage program. Using our miles for short haul flights on AS makes no sense. Their award availability, at least on this route, is as tight or tighter than on AA's domestic routes so the miles are of little use.
