I plan on carry-on luggage on my trip LAX-HEL-BCN in economy light. I have no status on the airline (I do have AA Gold).

How strict is Finnair on their carry-on baggage weight? More concerned about the 17.5 pounds combined weight. Do they weigh all carry on luggage?

For those that do not have status on Finnair, their website states the following for carry on travel:

• one piece of carry-on baggage, maximum dimensions (length x width x height) 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm (22 in x 18 in x 10 in)
• one personal item such as a small handbag, a small laptop bag or a small backpack, maximum dimensions (length x width x height) 40 cm x 30 cm x15 cm (16 in x 12 in x 6 in)
• maximum combined weight 8 kg (17.5 lb.)
