Resurrecting this ancient thread:
My father will arrive at 23:10 (11:10 PM) and needs to get to the RC Sharq Village.
The hotels asks a whopping 165 QAR for the transfer (one way!) - Uber is just 26 QAR.

I have had not so great experience with Uber from the airport. Often the driver can't find you, you will have to walk to a parking lot etc. etc.
As my father won't have any cash and I don't want him to be ripped off (I remember drivers standing outside the terminal trying to persuade you to ride with them), I would like to prebook a taxi.
Ideally somebody would be waiting for him with a sign.
If that's always this expensive, I'm sure a regular taxi would be fine, but do they always accept credit cards (Visa/Amex)? I don't want him to have to look for an ATM in the middle of the night.
