I love that story, because I've been on an AA flight with rolling delays and crew timeouts, and when the second crew arrived (having just landed from another route) they wouldn't let the GA start boarding during pre-flight checks. I'm pretty sure they intentionally slowed the work until they timed out too. Yay for a wasted night. I'm happier on DL as a result of those shenanigans (not that I would expect your boarding story to happen on DL either).
