My sister lives in Sydney and I’m hatching a plan to take my wife and two kids out to see her next Easter. My ideal solution would be 4 award seats in J (or W if needed) but given how hard they are to come by I'm guessing that might be a challenge, so I'm open to possible ideas/routes to get there whilst burning some avois. I've got s couple of amex 2-for-1s and a GUF2, happy to entertain routes with lay-overs as well. Of course if I can't get availability I will end up paying but it would be good to exhaust my Avios options first.
My in-laws are in Perth, we went last year on a QR fare from Oslo, €1300 each in J. They do have great fares at the moment from ARN (although ive not looked at SYD), so might be worth a look there.
It worked out MUCH cheaper than what BA/CX wanted for W.
we briefly looked at using Avios, but couldn't find anything interesting
