My gut is it would be pretty hard to count on this working with any reliability, not just because of the SAdFC rules but because these flights are frequently J0 or J1 within 24 hours.
Thanks for clarifying, was thinking some of te mid-day LAX-JFX flights might be less filled... guess just got to enjoy the lounge and the 30k miles saved!

(Oops, just realised the 115k same-day awards are First AAnytime... )
