One of two things happened: actionable data from the Ethiopian investigation is available which pushes the needle in favor of grounding (really bad), or the FAA caved to public pressure (also a bad outcome, but not a surprise in this day and age).

Either case is highly disturbing, but this tragedy truly creates a no-win situation.
