A lot of my RDU-IAD flights on AWAC 146s land/depart at C, and rarely D. But last time through I came into D on a CRJ and departed G on a AWAC 146. One would think smaller jets at G, larger at C/D, but that rule didn't hold in this case. I think this is all a work in progress and I've yet to detect a pattern--beyond chaos
