There is a long running thread on the Doctor of Credit site about how difficult it is to get approved for this card. Many (but not all) people have needed a 12 month existing banking relationship with WF before getting approval.

Right now there is a $400 new account promo for a personal checking account at WF. Some DPs suggest taking that offer, letting the account age for a few (or 12) months, then applying for this card.
