...to me it would be more suspicious if you do a split payment AND pay the fee in coins...so I try to stick to no cash/coins (except at places where I am very comfortable with clerks who know exactly what I am doing and don't mind at all)...
because coins are most likely obtained in black market transactions like drug deals or stolen from some tip jar smh
