njf1003, that makes ATL-JNB about 7300 nautical miles, which is well within the A350’s 8100 nautical mile range though that’s the generic range listed by Airbus and numerous factors can influence that range from airline to airline or for a specific route (such as JNB’s high altitude conditions). A350s are already used on similar long range routes - Philippine Airlines uses the A350 on JFK-MNL which is 8,500 miles - slightly longer than ATL-JNB.
