Given their validity being only one year, it is a completely pointless gesture. Whilst their on-board service is top class, their customer service team leave an awful lot to be desire.
This is the Flying Blue forum so the relevance of your Qatar experience seems out of place here. Unless the routing via Paris has something to do with it ...
