No, they weren't concealed upgrades of unchecked-in passengers as the flight status screen claimed there were 11 seats in F available and only one seat actually booked. And yes, they did vanish over time starting at T-24 down to zero available not long before departure.

Also, it appeared several in F boarded after 1Ks boarded.
