I played with that upgrade bid and it did not give me a "you can't upgrade response" it was more of a: none are available now, but try back later response.

Follow up question: I am currently scheduled SIN-PVG on a 5pm flight, possible to leave on an earlier flight? if so... how does SQ do standby/same say change?
