Racial profiling and racism are two different things.
Because I don't look German, which was often 85+% of the other passengers on the transatlantic flights, Air Berlin always checked me out extra. It's racial profiling. It's not racism. I applaud them for it because it's a common sense way to use security in an efficient manner. No need to frisk people by quota for the sake of being all inclusive. The practice was respectful and not hate-driven.
In the US, mainstream media reporters regularly declare me and many others to be white supremacists because we support certain political figures, even when none of us is white or supremacist. They won't point their cameras at us at events because we don't fit their narrative. We are not few in number. Those same mainstream media reporters regularly insult us with racial epithets unless we "get back on the plantation." They are disrespectful and hateful with harmful intent because of the color of our skin. That is racism.
Ignorance and good intentions get a pass. Blind-hatred does not.
