When they do paint they can’t do any work to the interior anyway so having the different livery is probably not costing a whole lot extra as due for paint anyway.
The interior refurbishment for G-BNLY according to the Wiki will happen in October 2019. Most likely to coincide with a major service where the seats have to be removed anyway. This is done at Cardiff. The paint hangers at Dublin would not be set up to do maintenance anyway. There is a method to the perceived madness and BA would have done the cheapest option....
